CURRENTLY LISTENING TO:
We Takin' Over - DJ Khaled, feat. Akon, T.I., Fat Joe, Rick Ross, Birdman, Lil' Wayne ( http://bit.ly/jRFTrn )
-----
I've been getting requests for a few months now to do a 100 facts about me so I took some time to decide on my top 100. It took me a few weeks to write out this list so I'll be releasing 20 a week for the month of May so here we go
59. Michael Jordan was my favorite basketball player. Kobe Bryant is my favorite current player.
- If you're going to hate on Kobe, give me a better reason than, "He's cocky, he's a ball-hog" blah blah. The best reason I've gotten so far was, "I hate Kobe because he's too damn good."
58. My favorite basketball team is the Los Angeles Lakers.
- If you're going to hate on the Lakers don't hate on them because you hate Kobe. Be a real sports fan. Don't be a punk.
57. My favorite football team is the Seattle Seahawks.
- Go ahead, talk trash. We got robbed of a Super Bowl. I hate the Steelers.
56. I scored a 1380 out of 1600 on my SAT's.
- First try, didn't study. Good enough to get me into UW.
55. I went to Shorecrest High School.
- Met a lot of really cool people there. Because of social networking, I've reconnected with a lot of them over the past few years.
54. My Senior Project was originally to direct and create a short film but halfway into the school year I switched it to producing a hip-hop show / concert.
- We called it "Da Funk Phenomenon." Anthony Manahan from Battalion Entertainment was my mentor.
53. I didn't get accepted to the year book staff.
- I guess I wasn't part of the cool crowd back then. I gotta admit, I was pretty nerdy throughout school. Shoot, I still am. But you know what, I'm not ashamed of that. I love school. I enjoy learning. It's breeds passion and dreaming. If being a manager over 50 people at 20, owning a business at 22, another at 25, starting a non-profit foundation, and building a team over 100 strong, and having a personal network of 50,000 connections is nerdy, then so be it.
52. My friends and I used to play "13" during TAP (Tutorial Activity Period = break) and lunch for money.
- I'll play anyone heads up in 13 or Hold' Em anytime for any stakes. Don't just talk about it, be about it. Put your money where your mouth is.
51. I graduated with a 3.7 GPA.
- I was named the "Industrial Technology Senior of the year" along with other awards. I told you, I took school very seriously. In my SR year I already had enough credits where I only needed to take the required SR classes. When my advisor saw this, she enrolled me in 4 AP classes. Awesome. Hardest school year of my life, but looking back on it now, I want to thank her for putting me through that.
50. I was the first in our district (wouldn't be surprised if it was the state) at the time to beta test and work on the first line of iMac's and Final Cut Pro.
- I have video skills son. I also won 3 film festivals throughout high school. I honestly just don't have the time or resources to focus my energy on video production.
49. I went to the University of WA after high school.
- I thought I wanted to study Computer Science and become a programmer for Microsoft after graduation. I did not enjoy it. In fact, I dislike it a lot.
48. I really wanted to go to the University of Southern CA instead.
- I wanted to study film and become a director. That was my real dream and passion. I guess I'm not directing films, but I am directing shows. I would still like to produce and direct a film one day though.
47. I almost joined the military when I was 20.
- I met with the recruiter and was ready to move forward. My mom didn't want me to do it. End of story.
46. My family helped plant a church in Shoreline, WA.
- My family was one of the eight families who founded and planted the Filipino-American Christian Church in Shoreline, WA.
45. My family was was part of different aspects of the church. We were very involved in our own way at different points of the life of the church.
- My dad was an elder, my mom was part of the worship team and other ministries, my brother played the drums, and I was a youth leader.
44. Earlier this year, this same church "family" who we've known and grown with for almost twenty years black-listed me to the students I once mentored. They met with all the students and parents and told them not to communicate with me anymore. Thumbs up to the biggest group of fakes I've ever known.
43. I was baptized on May 9, 1999 - Mother's Day.
- I found God at a young age and regardless of a shaky walk, I still believe and claim that He is my rock, my salvation, and my savior. As an imperfect Christian, I don't focus my time on trying to look perfect or memorizing BIble verses. That'll never happen. I focus on loving others as God loves us.
42. My father passed away on December 19, 2004.
- He died during church from an aneurysm. I wasn't there to witness it, but from what I was told, he just fell over during worship singing and that was that. Read more here:http://bitly.com/jMQAOL
41. I spent seven total months in the Philippines the following year.
- I started my first business during this time which was a lounge / club in Manila.
40. MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES.
- I love the Philippines. I am proud of my country. I am proud of my culture. I am proud of who I am. I consider myself lucky to have been born a Filipino.
Thanks for reading ya'll. Look out for the next set!
With Love,
